Every time I pick up a brush, I feel the urge to transcend reality. After exploring various genres and techniques, I find myself returning to what has always been my source of inspiration — abstraction. Here in Ecuador, where nature is filled with striking contrasts and vibrant emotions, I’ve rediscovered the pull of this direction.

You may have seen some of my earlier abstract works on the website. These pieces reflect a journey of exploration and experimentation, capturing layered emotions and moods. But since my move to Ecuador, my painting has taken a new turn. I’ve immersed myself in new colors and forms, drawing inspiration from the landscapes, culture, and my own experiences.

For me, abstraction has always been more than just a random interplay of colors and shapes. It carries a certain energy, a play of light and shadow, a rhythm that evokes emotions. Each painting is an invitation for the viewer to dive into their own interpretations. Ecuador has become a living canvas for me. From the dramatic cloudscapes over the mountains to the lush rainforests and vast oceans, I’ve created a series of works that capture the movement of nature and the energy of the world around me. Svetlana Sokolova is an artist whose work is filled with light, emotion, and deep symbolism. Born and raised as a creative individual in Russia, she later found inspiration in the tropical beauty of Ecuador, where she currently lives and works. Her paintings are a unique blend of cultural elements from two vastly different worlds, combining Slavic soulfulness with the vibrant colors of South America.

Im Februar 2024 bin ich von Russland nach Ecuador gezogen. Diese Entscheidung fiel nicht sofort, sondern war das Ergebnis vieler Überlegungen und Sorgen! Jetzt lebe ich in der wunderschönen Stadt Cuenca und eine neue Phase meiner Kreativität beginnt. Ich habe in Ecuador bereits zehn Werke geschaffen und habe viele Ideen. Ecuador erwies sich als ein sehr komfortables Land mit freundlichen Menschen. Ich habe bereits Freundschaften mit einigen lokalen Künstlern geschlossen, die mich sehr gut aufgenommen haben und mir in vielerlei Hinsicht helfen. Es gab sogar Überlegungen, kurz vor Weihnachten eine gemeinsame Ausstellung zu organisieren. Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit den Veränderungen in meinem Leben und habe das Gefühl, dass mir Flügel wachsen!

Hallo meine Freunde und Kollegen! Ausgehend von der aktuellen Situation in der Welt möchte ich ein paar Worte sagen. Aggression in jeder ihrer Erscheinungsformen immer gehasst! Es hindert Sie daran, zu leben und in Ruhe das zu tun, was Sie lieben – das Malen! Im Moment versucht ein Haufen Politiker in verschiedenen Ländern, unsere Welt in ein dunkles Gewirr aus Aggression und Hass zu stürzen! Ich möchte alle kreativen Menschen auf dem Planeten aufrufen, nicht dem Ansturm dunkler Mächte zu erliegen und den Menschen weiterhin einen hellen Anfang zu bringen, indem sie ihr ganzes kreatives Potenzial dafür einsetzen!
