Every time I pick up a brush, I feel the urge to transcend reality. After exploring various genres and techniques, I find myself returning to what has always been my source of inspiration — abstraction. Here in Ecuador, where nature is filled with striking contrasts and vibrant emotions, I’ve rediscovered the pull of this direction.

You may have seen some of my earlier abstract works on the website. These pieces reflect a journey of exploration and experimentation, capturing layered emotions and moods. But since my move to Ecuador, my painting has taken a new turn. I’ve immersed myself in new colors and forms, drawing inspiration from the landscapes, culture, and my own experiences.

For me, abstraction has always been more than just a random interplay of colors and shapes. It carries a certain energy, a play of light and shadow, a rhythm that evokes emotions. Ecuador has become a living canvas for me. Svetlana Sokolova is an artist whose work is filled with light, emotion, and deep symbolism. Born and raised as a creative individual in Russia, she later found inspiration in the tropical beauty of Ecuador, where she currently lives and works. Her paintings are a unique blend of cultural elements from two vastly different worlds, combining Slavic soulfulness with the vibrant colors of South America.

En febrero de 2024 me mudé de Rusia a Ecuador. ¡Esta decisión no llegó de inmediato, sino que fue el resultado de mucho pensamiento y preocupación! Ahora vivo en la hermosa ciudad de Cuenca y comienza una nueva etapa en mi creatividad. Ya he creado diez obras estando en Ecuador y tengo muchas ideas. Ecuador resultó ser un país muy cómodo con gente amigable. Ya me he hecho amigo de algunos artistas locales. Me han recibido muy bien y me están ayudando de muchas maneras. Incluso se pensó en organizar una exposición conjunta más cerca de Navidad. ¡Estoy muy feliz con los cambios en mi vida y siento como si me crecieran alas detrás de mí!

¡Hola mis amigos y colegas! Basado en la situación actual en el mundo, me gustaría decir algunas palabras. ¡Siempre odié la agresión en cualquiera de sus manifestaciones! Te impide vivir y hacer con calma lo que amas: ¡pintar! ¡En este momento, un montón de políticos en diferentes países están tratando de sumergir a nuestro mundo en una oscura maraña de agresión y odio! ¡Quiero hacer un llamado a todas las personas creativas del planeta para que no sucumban al ataque de las fuerzas oscuras y continúen brindando a las personas un comienzo brillante, usando todo su potencial creativo para esto!
