MY LIFE

“Ecuador – Rays of Light”

Added Nov 30, 2024

The exhibition “Ecuador – Rays of Light” opens the viewer to a world filled not only with the colors of a new country, but also with a personal understanding of light as a symbol of change and inspiration. Almost a year ago I left Russia and began a new stage of my life in Ecuador.Ecuador, a country of striking contrasts, where the Andes meet the ocean and lush tropical nature reveals itself under the bright sun, inspired me to create works imbued with light and warmth. In my paintings, light takes on a special meaning: it is not just a physical phenomenon, but a symbol of hope, energy and renewal.

The twelve paintings presented in the exhibition are ideas of light as a life force. This is not only a reflection of the unique nature of Ecuador, but also a dialogue between all creative people in the world and the perception of a new reality. Through art I convey to the viewer the feeling of harmony that I found in Ecuador, and these works become a bridge between two cultures, two stages of life.

"Ecuador - Rays of Light" is an invitation to see beauty through the eyes of a person who has experienced a profound change in her outlook on life. The exhibition pays attention to how light and nature can change not only the space around us, but also the inner world of each of us.

Welcome to an encounter with light that inspires and attracts!

A New Reality: Return to the World of Abstraction

Added Sep 29, 2024

Every time I pick up a brush, I feel the urge to transcend reality. After exploring various genres and techniques, I find myself returning to what has always been my source of inspiration — abstraction. Here in Ecuador, where nature is filled with striking contrasts and vibrant emotions, I’ve rediscovered the pull of this direction.

You may have seen some of my earlier abstract works on the website. These pieces reflect a journey of exploration and experimentation, capturing layered emotions and moods. But since my move to Ecuador, my painting has taken a new turn. I’ve immersed myself in new colors and forms, drawing inspiration from the landscapes, culture, and my own experiences.

For me, abstraction has always been more than just a random interplay of colors and shapes. It carries a certain energy, a play of light and shadow, a rhythm that evokes emotions. Each painting is an invitation for the viewer to dive into their own interpretations. The new collection, soon to be unveiled on the website, is the result of a deep, personal journey and the inspiration I’ve found in this remarkable country.

Ecuador has become a living canvas for me. From the dramatic cloudscapes over the mountains to the lush rainforests and vast oceans, I’ve created a series of works that capture the movement of nature and the energy of the world around me. These paintings hold fleeting moments — brief yet saturated with color and form.

Why am I returning to abstraction now? Perhaps because abstraction offers freedom. It allows one to break free from the constraints of reality, to give full rein to imagination and emotion. In my new paintings, you can feel this liberation — they live their own lives, interacting with each viewer uniquely, evoking personal associations.

So what can you expect from this collection? Bursts of color, unexpected shapes, and flowing lines that reflect both the inner world and external impressions. I invite you to see how abstraction has been reborn in my work, becoming a new form of expression under the bright Ecuadorian sun and among the towering Andean peaks.

Each painting is the result of my fresh vision of the world, and I believe these works will resonate with something deep within you. This is not just abstraction; it is an emotional reality, one that invites you to dive in. Behind every line and color lies a story — perhaps one that’s waiting for you.

Don’t miss the chance to be among the first to see the new collection on my website. These works are waiting for the right viewer and collector who can feel their energy and uniqueness.

ABOUT THE CREATIVITY OF SVETLANA SOKOLOVA

Added Aug 28, 2024

Svetlana Sokolova is an artist whose work is filled with light, emotion, and deep symbolism. Born and raised as a creative individual in Russia, she later found inspiration in the tropical beauty of Ecuador, where she currently lives and works. Her paintings are a unique blend of cultural elements from two vastly different worlds, combining Slavic soulfulness with the vibrant colors of South America.

Sokolova's works are characterized by rich colors, energetic brushstrokes, and clear composition. Her paintings often remind viewers of forgotten dreams, childhood memories, or hidden corners of the soul that we do not always dare to explore. Each piece seems to be infused with light, symbolizing both hope and the artist’s inner world.

Nature holds a special place in Svetlana's art. The plant and animal life in her paintings come alive on the canvas, whether it’s the riot of colors in a tropical forest or the mysterious, almost fairy-tale atmosphere of a Russian woodland. She skillfully conveys the mood of nature, whether it’s the morning mist enveloping the trees or the bright sun breaking through dense foliage.

Symbolism plays a significant role in Sokolova’s work. Every detail carries deep meaning, whether it’s a blooming flower representing a new beginning or an old tree symbolizing the path and experience of life. This symbolism allows the viewer not only to enjoy the visual aspect of the art but also to delve into reflections, finding something personal and close in the paintings.

The influence of her move to Ecuador is evident in her recent works. Here, among the exotic nature and welcoming people, she has found a new palette of colors and images. Her paintings have become even more vivid and emotional, radiating joy and optimism. Ecuador has given Svetlana new creative energy, reflected in her works filled with sunlight and warmth.

Thus, Svetlana Sokolova's art is not just a reflection of the external world but a deep dialogue with herself and the viewer. Her works invite us on a journey through worlds of imagination and memories, where everyone can find something important and genuine for themselves.

Change of life!

Added Jul 13, 2024

In February 2024, I moved from Russia to Ecuador. This decision did not come at once, but was the result of a lot of thought and experience! Now I live in the beautiful city of Cuenca and I am starting a new stage in my creative work. I have already created ten works while in Ecuador and have a lot of ideas. Ecuador has proven to be a very comfortable country with friendly people. I have already made friends with some of the local artists, they have accepted me very well and are helping me in many ways. There are even thoughts of organizing a joint exhibition closer to Christmas. I am very happy with the changes in my life and feel like I have wings growing behind me!

PEACE!

Added Mar 9, 2022

Hello my friends and colleagues! Based on the current situation in the world, I would like to say a few words. Always hated aggression in any of its manifestations! It prevents you from living and calmly doing what you love - painting! At the moment, a bunch of politicians in different countries are trying to plunge our world into a dark tangle of aggression and hatred! I want to call on all creative people on the planet not to succumb to the onslaught of dark forces and continue to bring people a bright beginning, using all their creative potential for this!

НОВОСТЬ №1

Added Jun 15, 2021
